Peer Review means never…(UPDATE!)
So… I just finished going over this paper. The cursory glance I had given it when I first read it didn’t even CLOSE to cover how bad this paper was to read.
Like, I’m really not trying to be mean with my comments, but I’m not the kind of person who will be like,”Oh, good!! Look at how you can misspell 20% of the words in your paper, ramble, obviously not read what you were supposed to be writing about, ect. I’m so proud of you!!”
I would care a lot more about being kind if this person had put in even the smallest amount of effort.
I can literally point to a spot in a 10+ page story where they stopped reading: page 2.
If you are curious, you can see it very clearly because they used direct quotes to both fill space and make me angry at how out of context and incorrect their quotations are and the last line of their last paragraph was a direct quote. I’m really not holding out much hope that it is a coincidence, especially considering the main point of this story wasn’t even mentioned until the 7th page of the story and they have no mention of it at all!
I guess all this leads to my update: I jokingly put “Peer Review means never having to say you’re sorry” as the title to my previous bit, but as a strange matter of coincidence… I fear I might have to actually apologize to this person after all at some point.

P.S. They printed their paper with blue text. We’re not in 2nd grade — you HAVE to print your paper with black text. Its not even a question, that’s why they don’t bother to mention it, but don’t be fooled, it IS required. So, go buy a black ink cartridge, or spend the $0.42 on printing to get your print to be black.
